Omikuji are the little traditional fortune telling sheets, Japanese people get at temple in the first days of the new year. From a wooden box you extract a numbered wooden stick and get the corresponding sheet. It tells about the work, study, love and health of the new year. After reading it, people tide it to a tree or strings in the temple court. Even if it is snowing people gather to temple the first day of the year. Photo taken at Suwa jinja, KitakataNatural light and 85 mm. lens fully open f 1.4, lovely sahllow focus.
