The higashi are very dry sugar cakes, made of pressed sugar and rice weat,  the tiny one are just made of shugar, to be served in the chanoyu, the Japanese Tea Ceremony. Photohgraphed on a laquered woden plate in natural light with a fully open Nikon 105mm. macro lens, to blur abundantly the back ground.
