This is a wagashi, to celebrate Spring: is a sweet for the Tea Ceremony, is sakuara mochi, sakura means cherry and mochi is a soft paste made with rice flour. Inside there is a kind of marmalade of azuki beans called anko, the leaf is a real cherry leaf marinated and slightly salty. Very nice combination of taste and visually great. Photo taken at home in natural light, using my 105 mm. Micro lens, fully opened.
