A tokonoma and kakejiku

The tokonoma is the most important  place of a traditional Japanese house in the tatami room., In the tokonoma  are displayed a painting or a calligraphy and a flower composition, the most important guest will seat closer to the tokonoma. The kakejiku is silk scroll with an ink painting or a calligraphy always in harmony with the season and, eventually, with the occasion. This is the room where I sleep with my wife, when we are in Kitakata. The photo was taken in Summer with natural light, filtered by the shoji, the paper screen in front of the windows, this give a soft light and a warm light tone I like to keep in the image.
